Java Festival Production's Melomaniac music session to become series

The lineup for the second edition of the series will feature Bubu, Matthew Sayersz, Kyriz Boogieman and EZ Collective, who will perform a mix of original and cover neo-soul songs.

The lineup for the second edition of the series will feature Bubu, Matthew Sayersz, Kyriz Boogieman and EZ Collective, who will perform a mix of original and cover neo-soul songs by D’Angelo, Common, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Musiq Soulchild and Robert Glasper.

The theme of the show is based on the organizer’s Java Soulnation Festival, which was held annually from 2008 to 2013 and was dominated by R&B, soul and hip-hop music. 

Tickets for Melomaniac are available on Java Festival Production's website for Rp 35,000 (US$2.38).

During the event, viewers will be able to write messages on the live chat feature, which could be read by the performing artists.

The Melomanic series aims to continue supporting the music industry and meet the demand for live music during the pandemic.

The first edition of the series featured renowned Indonesian musicians such as Dira Sugandi, Elfa Zulham, Sri Hanuraga and Dhani Syah, who performed covers of popular works by Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston, among others.

Promoter Java Festival Production has organized various music festivals since 2005, including the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, Java Rockin’land, Soundsfair and Hodgepodge Festival. (car/wng)
