BLP Beauty to launch 7 new foundation shades

BLP Beauty has announced seven new shades for its Face Base line, with all 12 shades to be available both online and offline starting this Thursday.

By Lizzie Parra Beauty (BLP Beauty) is releasing seven new shades for its Face Base line on Nov. 5.

The new shades are ivory (N10), medium ivory (N15), warm medium beige (W25), warm medium sand (W35), amber (N40), medium amber (N45), and medium sable (N55).

BLP Beauty’s product development team researched the best way to create the right shades for darker skin tones, so the foundations wouldn’t appear too red or orange when applied to the face.

The Indonesian makeup brand launched its first five Face Base shades of warm ivory (W10), warm beige (W20), beige (N20), cool sand (C30) and warm sand (W30) in June, after which it received requests from customers to expand the foundation’s range of shades.

Face Base offers protection from ultraviolet rays and also contains chamomile extract, caffeine and allantoin to promote “smooth and natural” results. The makeup is dermatologically tested and noncomedogenic, and claims to be suitable for all skin types.

Expanding the available shade range is part of BLP Beauty’s commitment to support inclusivity in Indonesia’s beauty industry, as many customers have found that most Indonesian cosmetics brands offered only a limited range of shades for base makeup.

“Indonesian women have diverse skin tones, so with these 12 shades, hopefully they’ll be more proud of their skin tones,” said BLP Beauty founder Lizzie Parra, who is also chief marketing officer.

All 12 Face Base shades are to be available on the BLP Beauty website and at all BLP Beauty outlets in the country, starting from Rp 189,000 (US$12.98).

BLP Beauty launched its first product, Lip Coat, in 2016 and has since has expanded to other beauty products for the face and eyes, as well as a wide range of lipsticks and glosses. (wir/wng)
