Noel Gallagher would reunite Oasis for 100 million pounds. Liam said he'd do it for free.

o-founder and guitarist of Britpop legend Oasis, Noel Gallagher, denied the rumor that he had declined an offer of 100 million pounds to go back on a reunion tour. Instead, he said he would immediately reunite the band and jump on a tour bus if offered that much money.

“There isn’t 100 million pounds in the music business between all of us […] if anybody wants to offer me 100 million pounds now, I’ll say it now, I’ll do it. I’ll do it for 100 million. Ludicrous. What is funny though is that I think Liam actually believes it, which is the funny thing,” Noel said on British chat show The Jonathan Ross Show aired last weekend.

Previously, Noel’s estranged brother and Oasis cofounder, Liam Gallagher, tweeted signaling that Noel had turned down an offer of 100 million pounds to bring the band back together and do a reunion tour.

It did not take long for Liam Gallagher to respond, commenting on the fan-run Oasis Mania’s Instagram page, which posted the news that “I’d do it for FREE.”

The band broke up in 2009 following a backstage bust-up at their final concert in Paris, which served as the climax of an on-again-off-again public dispute between the Gallagher brothers. The two have been trading insults via mass media since then, while going their own separate ways with different music projects.

After a decade-long ugly feud, it is reported that the two have rekindled their relationship, although there have not been any positive signs of a comeback show soon. The media is now in a cycle in which Liam publicly declares that he wants a reunion and Noel publicly refuses, while fans are kept on the brink of unnerving expectations of a comeback performance.

The Gallagher brothers formed Oasis in Manchester in 1991, with Liam as the main singer and Noel as the lead guitarist and songwriter. They released the acclaimed debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994, followed by the successful What’s the Story, Morning Glory? in 1995 and became the face of Britpop alongside Blur, Pulp and Suede. By the time of their break-up, they had sold over 75 million records worldwide and had been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
