In the lead up to welcoming Christmas this year, Jakarta is getting into the festive spirit by inviting university choirs to perform Christmas carols on the streets along Jl. Sudirman-MH Thamrin from Dec. 18 to 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The move has won support and praise from Jakartans — many of whom have become concerned about the state of religious tolerance in the city after several divisive election campaigns.
