The President’s mother, Sujiatmi Notomiharjo, passed away in Surakarta, Central Java, on Wednesday after succumbing to throat cancer. She was 77.
Sujiatmi was laid to rest on Thursday in the family cemetery in Gondangrejo, Karanganyar, Central Java. Jokowi’s family limited the number of mourners to 500 to lessen the risk of spreading COVID-19.
