Efendi Pasaribu is one of four Indonesian sailors registered to Chinese fishing ship Long Xing 629 who died after reportedly enduring poor working conditions aboard the ship.

The 21-year-old man died at the Busan Medical Center in South Korea on April 27. His remains were buried in his hometown in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on May 11.

During the funeral, Efendi’s parents pleaded a swift investigation into the death of his son. (JP/ Apriadi Gunawan)
