The Jakarta administration has collected a total of Rp 2.47 billion (US$188,120) in fines from violators of the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). Most of the fines have been collected from people found not wearing masks in public places.
This week, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo issued a presidential instruction (Inpres) urging regions to impose punishments for health protocol violators. Several regions have already imposed strict health protocols, as well as fines for violators. (JP/Donny Fernando)
