The United Kingdom’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) announced this week that it’s currently investigating the alleged bribery and corruption in the past deals between Indonesia’s state-owned airline Garuda Indonesia and Canada’s airplane manufacturer Bombardier. The deals occurred during 2011 and 2012 when the state-owned flag carrier was led by Emirsyah Satar, who was sentenced to eight years in prison this May for accepting bribes and engaging in money laundering related to Garuda’s aircraft procurement.
