round six years ago, Krisda-yanti released a book, Krisdayanti: Seribu Satu KD (Krisdayanti: One Thousand and One KD), telling the story of her career.
This book is similar to other biographies, is full of color photos, and shows her transformation during a decade as a professional musician.
Now, Yanti is back with her second book, Catatan Hati Krisdayanti (Krisdayanti's Memoirs): My Life, My Secret, which is more sensational than before, revealing the untold stories about her.
In her latest book, Yanti tells many untold stories from her private life, including of her addiction to drugs; her plastic surgery; and her marriage.
Yanti's husband Anang had almost divorced her after she yelled at him in front of his mother.
"After all this time, people thought I was the one who would leave Anang. This is so wrong. He was the one who wanted to divorce me," Yanti said.
Yanti also reveals her story of a dispute between Tiga Diva -a group comprising singers Krisdayanti, Titi DJ and Ruth Sahanaya - and Erwin Gutawa, a noted musician and orchestra conductor, including her feelings when her mother collapsed due to a stroke.
Drugs and surgery were two secrets among many Yanti reveals in the book.
She decided to share the sweetness and bitterness of her life experiences in hopes that people could learn from them.
"I just want to be honest. I've been living in an uncomfort-able situation for years. Now it's time to tell the truth. For me, honesty is part of being an adult," she said.
"I am not trying to be sensationalist *through this book*. I realize that in some areas my popularity will decline, but that is to be expected. I take it as a recycling process," Yanti said.
Alberthiene Endah, the writer of the book, was surprised when Yanti came to her with a list of her dark secrets, including her drug problem.
"I asked her many times whether she really wanted to go public, because I was afraid she would change her mind the next day, but she said yes. She even told me more secrets," Alberthiene said.
The only thing that is not revealed in the book is rumors of her affairs with several men. Some local media outlets have reported Yanti had affairs with a prominent musician and business man.
Yanti said that it was not necessary to tell public about the story. "The book is a true story about my self. I want people to read this book with an open mind, without prejudice and putting aside news in the media," she said.
