tarlet Olivia Jensen entered entertainment industry by pure luck – spotted by a talent agent looking for an actress to star in the drama Bukan Cinta Biasa (No Ordinary Love) in 2009.
The film’s success thrust the 18-year-old senior high school student into the limelight, encouraging the native of Bandung, West Java, to reach for more. Recently, her wish came true: She just starred in Masih Bukan Cinta Biasa [Still No Ordinary Love], a sequel to her first film, brushing shoulders once again with actress Wulan Guritno and musician Ferdi Taher.
“I love swimming, traveling and everything that has something to do with drawing and painting. I swim at least twice a week at home. Not only because I like it, but also because I have a back problem. My upper back is not straight enough, so I swim to boost my energy and prevent my figure from growing crooked when I get older.
I think my back problem is not caused by carrying too much stuff on my back or another bad habit. It’s a genetic problem. My spine is just not perfect. My sister, Sabrina, has a worse back problem. She suffers from scoliosis.
When I have long holiday, I love traveling. I love going to the beach or places that have a lot of sunlight. I do not like cold places such as mountainous areas.
Taking a package offered by a tour agency is not an option. I like arranging my own itinerary. A trip with a tour agency might be fun as we can see popular tourist destinations, but they often have a rigid schedule. If we go our own, we can go to unexplored places.
I used to travel a lot with my family, especially with my father, Benny Jensen. He is a travel buff. When he was young, he liked backpacking to various places, including to Indonesia, where he met my mother.
owever, I don’t follow his backpacking habit because I think it is too dangerous these days.
My favorite holiday destination abroad is Finland, which I visited with my father. In Indonesia, I love visiting Bunaken in North Sulawesi for diving. I really want to go to unique places such as Mount Bromo National Park in East Java or to Raja Ampat in West Papua.
I believe our country has numerous beautiful places worth to visit. I especially enjoy underwater scenery that features corals. They are unique and have distinctive beauty. Now, my parents have allowed me to travel with my friends. I enjoyed a trip to Bali. The fun factor, however, did not come from the place, but from the good company of my friends.
At home, I like doing my art. I love painting, water colors, drawing and enjoying magazines that feature such things. Painting and drawing has been my passion since I was a kid.
I plan to take a drawing course next year to find out whether I have talent. Who knows? Maybe I can earn money from my hobby.
Right now, I am a third-year senior high school student at the Australian International School and I have made a decision about my future education.
I want to study fashion business. I like dressing up and this is a completely new thing that I have not studied at school.
