suspicious package was spotted at the Karsa Utama shopping mall in Gorontalo early Thursday morning by a local resident during midnight shopping. The resident reported the package to a nearby military post.
A soldier arrived to examine the package and found a box containing a cell phone and cable. After dismantling the package, he turned it over to the police for further examination.
Gorontalo Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Andry Trias Poetra confirmed that a suspicious package had been found and said his office was examining it.
'We are trying to identify what this package is made off, whether it really is a bomb or just something use to scare people,' he said. (dic)
