After a monthlong renovation project, the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta has a new elevator.
'The elevator has been open to public since March 3. We ran a safety check on the new elevator in February,' Monas management unit head Rini Hariyani said as quoted by kompas.com.
The new elevator has the same 11-person maximum capacity as the old one. The elevator carries visitors to the top of the monument, where they can enjoy the view of the city from above.
The elevator is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The previous 10-year-old elevator had been used 160 times a day and had carried 4.36 million visitors since it was installed in 2003.
