S

outh Jakarta authorities plan to redirect traffic in order to ease congestion caused by the construction of an elevated busway lane on Transjakarta Corridor 13.

South Jakarta Transportation Agency head Priyanto said that at present, traffic could be managed, though Jl. Ciledug Raya, Jl. Kyai Maja in Bulungan and Jl. Tendean were experiencing heavier-than-usual traffic.

'€œSo far, we have not applied any extreme traffic-redirection measures, but we expect to do so around the end of August,'€ he said, adding that by August, the project would enter a bigger construction phase.

The elevated road construction, which will connect Jl. Tendean and Jl. Ciledug Raya, began a few weeks ago.
