he 2.5-hectare Cipeucang final disposal site (TPA), the only TPA located in Setu district, South Tangerang, Banten, is predicted to run out of capacity at the end of 2016.
'The garbage will mount at the end of next year for zone one. We actually have two more zones, but we are still in the process of land acquisition,' TPA Cipeucang technical management unit (UPT) head Tedi Khrisna said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com, adding that the process was supposed to be completed at the end of this year.
TPA Cipeucang has planned to acquire and use 15 hectares of land, but the administration has only procured 4.4 hectares of the land.
Tedi has said that the TPA receives 130 tons of garbage per day as one family can produce around 3 kilograms of garbage daily.
