legislator said on Tuesday the government should examine any policy taken by newly dismissed Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arcandra Tahar during his short time in office to avoid legal implications.
"Do not let him leave behind any any legal issues for any decisions he took during his short period of service," House of Representatives member Satya W. Yudha said on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).
During his time as minister, Arcandra instigated a number of strategic policies, including the extension of concentrate export permits for Freeport Indonesia until Jan. 11, 2017.
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo dismissed the recently appointed minister on Monday for holding dual citizenship. Under Indonesian law, Cabinet ministers must only hold Indonesian citizenship. (rez/dan)
