he National Police are requiring all eligible police officers to join the tax amnesty to both support the government program and to increase trust between citizens and the government, a top officer said Monday.
Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) head Comr. Gen. Ari Dono Sukmanto delivered the message during a tax amnesty information event at the force’s headquarters in South Jakarta.
Ari said police officers who joined the tax amnesty program would be doing more than just paying their dues.
“Besides attending this tax amnesty event, all National Police members have to join the tax amnesty program. This government program is not about numbers, but something more important than numbers, which is that the [tax] compliance of the National Police, initiated by Bareskrim, can encourage trust toward the government,” Ari said in a release made available Monday.
Ari said the National Police headquarters had obliged all police officers, not only those at the HQ but all over the country, to join the tax amnesty. (evi)
