ndonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) chairman Rosan Roeslani has submitted an application for tax amnesty, symbolically representing businesspeople complying with President Joko Widodo's flagship policy.
Rosan explained that he and several businesspeople had simultaneously declared their assets following the government’s decision to give additional time for people to complete their administrative filings in the first phase of the tax pardon program.
"The recent adjustment is very helpful and encourages businesspeople to participate in the tax amnesty program," he told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday, adding that Kadin applauded the government’s decision to allot extra time.
Earlier, businesspeople complained of the limited time to participate in the program in the first phase.
Rosan, a 47-year-old businessman who is currently the president director of coal producer Bukit Mutiara, has run various corporations, some of which are concerted with the Bakrie Group such as Berau Coal Energy, Recapital and Bumi Plc. (ags)
