usinessman Rachmat Gobel completed his tax amnesty application at the directorate general of taxation headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The former trade minister said he had already paid the fee last week, so the visit was only to finalize his application. He completed both a declaration and repatriation.
"I actually do not want to receive publicity, but I realize that I need to motivate other people to join the tax amnesty program," he told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
He refused to mention the amount of funds he had declared and repatriated. As a businessman he owns Panasonic Gobel Group and he is also the man who brought Qatari investor Ooredoo to telco company Indosat.
"I can use the repatriated funds for various investment activities but I cannot talk about it right now," he said. (evi)
