axation director general Ken Dwijugeasteadi has said the government’s flagship tax amnesty program has collected Rp 97.2 trillion (US$7.49 billion) in revenues as of Monday, or 58.9 percent of an initial Rp 165 trillion target it has set to achieve by the end of March 2017.

"On tax revenues from the first round of our tax amnesty program, the value collected as of Monday has not changed much, reaching Rp 97.2 trillion," Ken said in a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

It shows a Rp 500 billion increase compared to revenues collected as of Friday, which amounted to Rp 96.7 trillion.

The 97.2 trillion-worth revenues are calculated based on tax payment letters (SSP) submitted to the Directorate General of Taxation, which includes tax amnesty redemption payments, tax arrears payments and preliminary examination termination payments.

The tax office further revealed that as of Monday, declared assets collected amounted to Rp 3.63 quadrillion. Of this figure, repatriated assets amounted to Rp 137 trillion, or 14 percent of a Rp 1 quadrillion target set by the government.

According to the directorate general’s statistics data, most of the declared assets were domestic, in which these account for 69.96 percent of the total, while declared assets from overseas stand at 26.23 percent. It further says repatriated assets from overseas stand at 3.81 percent. (ebf)
