akarta Police arrested on Monday eight supporters of the Persija Jakarta soccer club, called Jakmania, for allegedly killing one of the supporters of the Persib Bandung soccer club of West Java, known as Bobotoh, on Saturday.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Awi Setiyono said the eight threw stones and helmets at two people who were riding a motorcycle on Saturday evening on Jl. Inspeksi Kalimalang, Bekasi, West Java.
The victims were heading to the Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Bekasi to watch a soccer match between Persib Bandung and Persegres Gresik United of East Java, Awi said, adding that one of the victims fell from the motorcycle after being hit.
“His foot was pinned on the motorcycle, dragging him for about seven meters. As the result, the victim suffered severe injuries and he finally died,” Awi said as quoted by kompas.com.
