Children and a horse cavalry guard are ready to welcome King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to Bogor State Palace.

Around 50,000 children from elementary schools in Bogor are wearing traditional Indonesian and Saudi Arabian attire. The horsemen, dressed in red, are made up of members of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).

They are waiting inside the palace while enthusiastic residents of Bogor mill around the palace from outside the gate.

Interestingly, the reindeers that live freely in the state palace grounds also made an appearance by crossing the fields. The history of the reindeers can be traced back to 1808 when Governor-General Thomas Stamford Raffles brought six reindeers with him from Nepal. (bbn)
