he Indonesian Embassy in London has told Indonesians living in the United Kingdom to avoid certain areas in the city following a fatal attack that killed five people.
The embassy advised citizens to heed the call of the London Metropolitan Police to avoid areas surrounding Parliament Square, Whitehall, Westminster and Lambeth Bridge, Victoria Street, the Broadway intersection and the Victoria Embankment.
"For any Indonesian citizens currently in London, it is advised to maintain communications with acquaintances and avoid travel into the aforementioned areas," the embassy said in a statement published after the incident on Wednesday.

The embassy itself remains open, with consular services resuming normally at the new embassy building on 30 Great Peter Street SW1P 2BU, London.
Indonesian citizens who faces trouble or know of any other citizens who might be affected by the current situation are advised to inform the embassy through its hotline +44 (0) 7881221235.
According to the ministry's eProtection database, there are 14,111 Indonesian citizens in the United Kingdom, including 3,000 students.
London was the latest city to be struck by what Scotland Yard is calling an "act of terror", when an unidentified assailant drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing it outside Parliament Square and trying to enter the complex, armed with a knife.
