There are many ways to look gorgeous during Ramadhan and the upcoming Idul Fitri gatherings.

Invitations for breaking-the-fast together and Idul Fitri gatherings pile up quickly and while we discuss the times and venues for the events, choosing the right makeup and matching accessories are also important.

For this purpose, fashion designer Dian Pelangi, in cooperation with Wardah Cosmetics, has launched four makeup and scarf color collections to support Ramadhan and Idul Fitri. The collections’ concept is to offer calm colors in a range of pastel tones that can create fresh facial hues and be suitable for attending diverse events.

The first color collection is called the “Everyday glow look,” referring to the pink that is perfect for daily use in order to appear fresher. The second color collection, the “Glow together look,” is still in pastel tones with some slightly stronger colors. This collection is intended to give greater self-confidence when gathering with friends and close relatives.

The next two collections are perfect for Idul Fitri as they offer more glamorous and accentuated color combinations. The “Blissful day glow look” can be applied for morning hours before joining Idul Fitri prayers and exchanging forgiveness with family members, relatives and neighbors.

Meanwhile, the “Evening glow look” is desirable for afternoon and evening events as its stronger hues and glittery look will make a glamorous impression.

Dream Cream scarf

The color series are more specific because they come with scarf collections designed by Dian Pelangi, also a Wardah’s brand ambassador. Rifna Affandi, Wardah’s brand manager, said she has confidence in Dian’s fashion works, which always flaunt the total look of people in Muslim attire to match different interactions.

Scarves are chosen as they are a multifunctional element of fashion. For women wearing headscarves, they can be converted into several models to suit the prevailing atmosphere. Those clad in non-Muslim clothing can also use scarves as bandanas to look more attractive, wear them around their shoulders, or fasten them to handbags as accessories that may be useful when needed.

Dian introduced three types of scarves — all are in pastel tones but some are blended with stronger hues to give their users a signature style. The first type, “Just Dust,” is presented in bright colors that can give a sense of prominence when the wearer stands among a crowd. The second set of scarves, “Mineralism,” has a combination of pastel tones and the strong colors of minerals, while “Dream Cream” offers a higher degree of warm, natural cream color.

Dian said a harmonious blend between fashion and makeup would make users remain fresh in spite of busy daily activities.

“During Ramadhan and Idul Fitri, many gatherings have to be attended and they can be whole-day events,” she said.

Rifna said a range of makeup and scarf colors could serve as an alternative reference for women wishing to dress up during the holy month and the Idul Fitri celebration.

“Adequate makeup color variations will also offer broader ideas when better looks are expected,” said Rifna, adding that pastel and mineral colors are the dominant trend of 2017.
