he Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has revoked the distribution licenses of four instant noodle products from Korea that contain pork.
The four products are Samyang’s U-Dong, Nongshim’s Shin Ramyun Black, Samyang’s Mi Instan Rasa Kimchi (Kimchi-flavored Instant Noodle) and Ottogi’s Yeul Ramen.
“We have ordered the importers to immediately pull [the products from the market] but still there’s no action [from the importers]. We have issued a distribution permit withdrawal,” Indonesia BPOM head Penny K. Lukito told a press conference on Monday.
Penny said the pork products were uncovered when importers tried to license them with the BPOM.
According to agency rules, these kinds of products must include an image that identifies the product as containing pork. While marketed in retail stores or supermarkets, they must also be displayed separately from other products that do not contain pork.
