ublicly listed consumer goods manufacturer PT Unilever Indonesia saw slow growth in its revenue and net profits in the first half of 2017.
Unilever Indonesia saw a 2.5 percent increase in its revenue to Rp 21.26 trillion (US$1.5 billion) from the Rp 20.75 trillion it generated in the same period, last year.
Meanwhile, its net profits rose to Rp 3.62 trillion from Rp 3.3 trillion, last year, according to the company’s financial statement.
The figures were in contrast to its state of liabilities, which increased by almost 20 percent to Rp 14.38 trillion in the first half from Rp 12 trillion in the same period in 2016.
In June, Unilever Indonesia corporate secretary Sancoyo Antarikso said that 2017 was a year of challenges with people’s purchasing power still yet to recover after the past couple of years.
The company has allocated Rp 1.6 trillion capital expenditure this year. As of June the company had spent Rp 620 billion for its expansion programs in its nine factories in Surabaya, East Java; in Cikarang, West Java and to pay for its new headquarters in BSD City, Banten, which was opened on June 21.
