he West Java administration has not completed collecting data on the land that will be affected by the 142.3 kilometer Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project.
So far it has managed to collect 92 percent of information on the total of 5,580 landowners affected but failure to collect data on the remainder has hampered the entire project.
Welfare assistant to the West Java administration secretary, Koesmayadi Tatang Padmadinata, explained that the project would affect 6,800 plots of land across eight regencies and cities, 29 districts and 95 villages in West Java.
Those plots are owned by 5,580 entities – individuals, state-owned enterprises and private companies.

One plot of land in the Karawang and Bekasi industrial area is owned by Japanese carmaker company Mitsubishi and the local representative needs approval from the company’s headquarters to sell the land, he added.
Meanwhile, several plots owned by state-owned enterprises like plantation company PT PN, railway operator PT KAI and toll road operator Jasa Marga need to complete handover documentation.
The West Java administration will hand over the data to sate-owned consortium PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia (PSBI), assigned by project developer PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) to submit the data to the National Land Agency (BPN) for land acquisition. (dis/bbn)
