he Thousand Islands Tourism Agency will host the Tidung Island Festival on Aug. 19-20, during which activities such as a ship decorating competition will take place.
Agency head Fajar Haridjaja says the ship decorating competition aims to set a new Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) record, with at least 30 ships to be decorated simultaneously.
The participants of the ship decorating competition will be fishermen from Tidung Island.
“Around 30 ships will be decorated simultaneously in the competition, and it will be recorded in the Indonesian Museum of Records,” Fajar said on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.
In addition to the ship decorating competition, there will be a mural competition and cultural and art performances during the festival, starting from 9 a.m. People can witness the competitions and performances for free. (vny)
