akarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno has ordered the Jakarta Transportation Agency to stop the trial closure of three intersections on Jl. Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, due to lack of information available to local residents and commuters.

The three intersections closed were: Jl. Mampang Prapatan Raya - Jl. Mampang Prapatan 7 - Jl. Mampang Prapatan 8; Jl. Mampang Prapatan Raya - Jl. Duren Tiga Raya - Jl. Kemang Utara 9; and Jl. Mampang Prapatan Raya - Jl. Duren Bangka - Jl. Duren Tiga Selatan.

Sandiaga said residents upset with the closure had dismantled the separators at the three intersections.

“We have not informed the citizens well about the intersection closures, and that caused a miscommunication with the local residents,” Sandiaga said on Sunday as reported by kompas.com.

Sandiaga said the road separators and a lack of information about them might have delayed firefighters going to a fire in residential areas in neighborhood unit (RT) 002, community unit (RW) 005, Duren Tiga, Pancoran, South Jakarta, on Saturday. (ami)
