Stray bullet kills truck driver in South Jakarta

arthen Lay Raga Melolo was driving his truck on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) from Pasar Rebo to Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta on Monday night when a stray bullet hit him in the head.

He was immediately rushed to Fatmawati Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m..

“He died on Tuesday,” said Pasar Minggu Police crime unit chief First Insp. Jento Siagian as reported by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

The police were currently investigating the case to gather more information and collect other supporting evidence, Jento added.

Marthen’s friend, Azim who was sitting next to him when the incident took place, told the police that they were on their way to deliver seats to a movie theater. They heard a gunshot and he saw Marthen fall on his side, bleeding. (vla)
