ndonesia has participated in all editions of the Asian Games since the maiden quadrennial Games in 1951 in New Delhi, India. Indonesia chalked its best performance by finishing second in the medal tally leader board when the country hosted the fourth edition of the sporting event in 1962 in Jakarta.

Of all 358 medals that have been collected since the first Asian Games, badminton has been the biggest contributor to the country’s medal tally with 26 gold, 25 silver, and 40 bronze, followed by tennis with 15 gold, 6 silver, and 21 bronze. (JP/Swi Handono)
