T

urkmenistan wrestler Nazarov Rustem has been found in violation of the 18th Asian Games’ doping rule, the first doping case to emerge in the Jakarta-Palembang sporting event, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced on Friday.

The council said in a press statement that the wrestler was found in violation of the rule during a pre-competition test conducted on Aug. 17. A sample of Nazarov's urine contained furosemide, a prohibited substance.

Nazarov was disqualified from the Games and his results were annulled following the finding.

The athlete, who had competed in the men’s 57-kilogram freestyle, left the competition after losing in the round of 16.

The council's medical commission had notified both the Turkmenistan NOC and the athletes of the decision.
