A

woman overtook a presidential convoy and then unintentionally hit a police officer on the Jagorawi toll road in East Jakarta on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at 8:40 a.m. The motorist, identified as Annisa, was apparently unaware that she overtook a convoy of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, and was confused when a traffic police officer tried to approach her, East Jakarta Police traffic accident unit chief Adj. Comr. Agus said.

“She was apparently unaware of having overtaken the presidential convoy. She panicked and became so confused and nervous at being approached [by the police], that her car later bumped into the officer,” Agus said as quoted by kompas.com.

The police officer was rushed to the hospital.

After undergoing police questioning, Annisa, who was accompanied by a friend called Tania in the car, admitted that she had wanted to arrive at her office as soon as possible on Monday morning. (srz)
