man was found dead in a car parked in the parking lot of a gas station in Rawamangun subdistrict, Pulo Gadung district, East Jakarta, on Sunday.
Pulo Gadung Police chief Comr. Pandji Santoso suspected that the man died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
"At the moment, the alleged cause is carbon monoxide poisoning from the burning of the car's fuel," Pandji said on Monday as reported by kompas.com.
There were no indications that the victim was physically harmed, according to the police.
The engine was running and the windows were partly opened when the body was found.
Parking attendant Surono, 51, said the car had been parked at the gas station since Sunday morning.
"I wanted to wake up the driver in the afternoon to ask him to move forward as the lot in front of his car was not occupied," Surono said.
The lot where the car remains parked was cordoned off by police line to allow for further investigation. (ars)
