A police security post in Blitar, East Java, has attracted public attention because of its Avengers-themed decoration.
The security post, which was established to manage traffic flow during the Idul Fitri exodus, is located along the Kesamben-Blitar highway. Avengers characters such as Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor and Spider-Man adorn the post’s walls.
However, these characters have a local flavor as they are depicted wearing traditional Muslim attire instead of their usual superhero costumes. Here, passers-by can see Black Widow wearing a veil, while Iron Man wears a sarong and kopiah (a cap worn by Muslim men).

According to Blitar Traffic Unit head Comm. Adj. Amirul Hakim, the Avengers theme was chosen to make homebound travelers feel comfortable as they relax at the post or to seek information regarding mudik (exodus) routes.
“We used the Avengers to decorate the police station because the movie is popular among children nowadays,” Amirul said on Wednesday.
“Hopefully, this security post can become an Instagramable spot,” he added.
