Last year, Italy’s exports of F&B machinery to Indonesia increased by 15.4 percent to 30 million euro (US$34 million) from 26 million euro in 2017.
n addition to holding trade exhibitions, Italy has also sent a number of trade missions to boost bilateral trade with Indonesia, an Italian envoy has said.
A trade commissioner from the trade agency at the Italian Embassy in Jakarta, Alessandro Liberatori, said such business-to-business approaches had strengthened trade relations between the two countries.
During visits to Indonesia, Italian businesspeople not only held trade expos but also meetings, including a workshop for specific industries.
The agency had also invited a number of representatives of Indonesian companies to attend trade exhibitions in Italy focusing on different products, such as footwear, jewelry, artisan gelato, bakery, marble, printing and textile processing machinery, he said.
“This year is particularly important since we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Indonesia,” he said in an interview withThe Jakarta Post on Monday.
He said Italian Trade Agency offices around the world, for example, would jointly organize a Micam Fair in Milan in September, in which more than 1,000 prominent companies would exhibit innovative products, design and techniques for the production of footwear.
MICAM is an international trade fair dedicated to the fashion and footwear industry - held twice a year in Milan - once in February and once in September.
