PE teacher arrested for allegedly molesting student
The teacher would ask boys to practice outside while girls stayed in the classroom to study theory.

A
physical education (PE) teacher, Djunaidi, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an Islamic elementary school student in Penjaringan, West Jakarta.
North Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Budhi Herdi Susianto said police arrested the 53-year-old man on Wednesday after receiving a report from the victim's family and having a forensic examination conducted on the victim.
"At first, Rose [not her real name] was scared to go to school," Budhi said on Friday as reported by kompas.com. "When her family asked for the reason, she told them about the assault."
He added that the first alleged assault took place in March.
According to police, the suspect would separate students during PE class. Boys were asked to practice outside while girls stayed in the classroom to study theory.
In the classroom, Djunaidi played a video for all of the girls and while they focused on the video, he allegedly approached the 10-year-old Rose and molested her.
"There were five witnesses," said Budhi referring to other female students. However, both the victim and witnesses were scared of Djunaidi because he threatened to fail them in PE class.
Police said that Djunaidi allegedly molested Rose six times in the past five months.
Djunaidi was charged under Article 82 of Law No.35/2014 on child protection, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years' imprisonment upon conviction. However, because he was a teacher, an additional one-third of the maximum sentence could be added to his prison term if he is convicted. (eyc)
