A major face-lift is currently under way at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Cikini, Central Jakarta, with the city looking to add more green space to the arts center. The revitalization project, which kicked off on July 3 with a groundbreaking ceremony led by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, cost the city administration Rp 1.8 trillion (US$126 million). It aims to revive TIM as the city’s premier cultural hub. In a recent visit, The Jakarta Post noticed that at the north part of TIM, where a parking lot and cafeteria used to stand, had been demolished and blocked off with construction safety barriers.  “The project is divided into two phases,” the director of Jakpro’s TIM revitalization project, Luky Ismayanti, said recently. “The first phase includes the parking area, the mosque and the library.
