The cementing project carried by Elnusa and its partner Dowell Anadrill Schlumberger is intended to increase production in new wells
tate-owned energy company PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), the operator of oil and gas block Mahakam, East Kalimantan, has agreed to appoint publicly listed integrated energy services provider PT Elnusa to carry out cementing in the company’s several oil and gas wells in the block.
Elnusa, itself also a subsidiary of state-owned energy giant Pertamina, will team up with industrial engineering company PT Dowell Anadrill Schlumberger in conducting the cementing works.
“The contract worth US$95.6 million is projected to be completed in 24 months or October 2021,” said PHM director general Eko Agus Sardjono on Nov. 1.
Elnusa and Dowell Anadrill Schlumberger were required to fulfill the project’s local content requirements of 35.11 percent in the cementing projects as stipulated in Energy and Mineral Resources Ministerial Decree No. 15/2013 on the use of local products in upstream oil and gas business operations.
Eko signed the partnership contract alongside Elnusa director general Elizar Parlindungan Hasibuan in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Oct. 16.
“In the next few years, national firms must strive to lead drilling activities in the country,” said Erwin.
PHM general manager John Anis said he expected the cementing project carried by Elnusa and its partner Dowell Anadrill Schlumberger to support the government’s efforts to increase oil production the country.
