ndonesia’s Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali has told Team Indonesia to focus on competing at the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines and ignore the flaws in the host nation’s preparations ahead of the opening of the biennial event.

Over the past couple of days, a series of logistical mishaps have been reported during the build-up to the Games, from transportation delays to inadequate accommodation and food supplies to incomplete press rooms.

“To all athletes, I want you all to stay focused on the competitions, and set aside things other than them. Don’t be burdened with the reports [of mishaps surrounding the Games],” Zainudin said during a send-off on Wednesday in Jakarta as quoted by Antara.

He also expressed hope the 2-0 win by the country’s men’s soccer team over Thailand in a qualifying match on Tuesday was a sign of things to come for Team Indonesia.

“Let us all take the positive energy from the soccer win over Thailand into other sports,” added Zainudin.

Indonesia will be represented by 841 athletes across 51 of the 56 sports at Games, which will officially begin on Saturday and conclude on Dec. 11.
