East Nusa Tenggara Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr, Johanes Bangun said Fang was caught bringing hundreds of iPhones, USB chargers and WiFi transmitters in two suitcases and one box at A.A. Bere Tallo Airport in Atambua on Tuesday.
Chinese citizen identified as Fang Hanjun was arrested at an airport in Atambua, Belu regency, East Nusa Tenggara, for allegedly attempting to smuggle 229 iPhones from East Timor.
East Nusa Tenggara Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr, Johanes Bangun said Fang was caught bringing hundreds of iPhones, USB chargers and WiFi transmitters in two suitcases and one box at A.A. Bere Tallo Airport in Atambua on Tuesday.
Johanes said Fang resided in East Timor's Ermera district.
He added that Fang was supposed to fly from Atambua to Kupang, the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara province. He reached the airport by land from Dili, East Timor. He is currently being detained for further investigation at the Belu police headquarters. (trn)
