Indonesia now has a total supply of 4.9 million doses with Monday's arrival of a second vaccine shipment through the COVAX Facility.
ndonesia received on Monday evening its second shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine containing 3.8 million doses, bringing the country’s total supply of the AstraZeneca vaccine to 4.9 million doses along with the first shipment of 1.1 million doses that arrived in early March.

The vaccines have been provided free of charge under the terms of the COVAX Facility, a multilateral distribution framework to ensure equitable global access to COVID-19 vaccines led by the Gavi vaccine alliance, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi said on Monday evening in a statement that the government had been working to provide vaccines for domestic use, even as it continued to champion equitable vaccine access for all countries.
“For this reason, Indonesia is active in discussions on [global vaccine equity],” said Retno, who is one of three ministers that cochair the COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC) Engagement Group, all women.
“We are concerned about bearing witness to the new wave [of infections] in many countries of the world, and the discovery of new variants in several countries,” she said.
Indonesia is among the 92 low- and middle-income economies eligible to the COVAX AMC, a cost-sharing mechanism for developed countries to help ensure vaccine access and availability for developing countries.
