The writer is an assistant professor of chemical and environmental engineering at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He is the deputy managing director of the International Association of Indonesian (I-4) for the UK. He is also director of the Indonesia Doctoral Training Partnership, a pioneering partnership between the Research and Higher Education Ministry and the University of Nottingham.
