ielsen Television Audience Measurement (TAM) has revealed an increase in TV viewership over the past week in 11 Indonesian cities, from an average TV rating of 12 percent on March 11 to 13.8 percent on March 18, equal to an increase of about 1 million TV viewers.
There was also an increase in TV viewing duration, from an average of 4 hours and 48 minutes on March 11 to 5 hours and 29 minutes on March 18, according to Nielsen TAM, which measured viewings of all national television on more than 8,000 people aged 5 years and up in 11 Indonesian cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, Medan, Makassar and Banjarmasin.
Increased TV viewership is understandable as people are largely staying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with TV providing entertainment as well as information.
Furthermore, TV is also a device that can bring families together, especially in this era of video on demand (VoD).
Aware of the increasing need for television with easy access to VoD, Samsung Electronics Indonesia launched Samsung Super Smart TV 2020, with digital TV technology that has built-in Wi-Fi for easy access to the internet, ideal for enjoying VoD from such platforms as Netflix, Vidio.com, iflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Another highlighted feature from Samsung Super Smart TV 2020 is Personal Computer, supported by Office 365 (Cloud), allowing the TV to be connected to the laptop for an additional screen, which can boost productivity and enhance the video conferencing experience, whether for work or family gatherings. Furthermore, the device is also equipped with the Music Control feature, enabling it to serve as a virtual music system without the need for an additional sound system or music player.
