anet Todd made history on Friday when she became the United States’ first two-sport ONE world champion at ONE 159: De Ridder vs. Bigdash at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
After a hard-fought battle with Spain’s Lara Fernandez, the atomweight kickboxing queen scored a unanimous decision win to secure a second world title in her 50th professional bout.
Todd controlled the first two rounds of the comain event matchup and made it hard for debuting Fernandez to find her footing. But the Spaniard came alive in the third round, and from there, it was a nail-biting scrap.
In the end, though, the American's work rate got her over the line in the judges’ eyes, and the victory will surely stand as one of Todd’s greatest to date.
The California native has shown immense heart in her ONE tenure thus far. After going down to a difficult debut loss against Stamp Fairtex in 2019, “JT” went on a seven-fight win streak, including claiming the atomweight kickboxing gold against Stamp with a stunning rematch performance.
Her win at ONE 159 now cements her as the woman to beat in the atomweight striking disciplines.
But before she can claim true two-sport dominance, Todd has to take out reigning atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues to unify the titles.

Rodrigues, who is currently making her way back to the Circle following the birth of her first child, will undoubtedly be gunning for a shot at the new interim world champion.
The Brazilian-born star made waves when she snatched the gold from Stamp at ONE: A NEW BREED in August 2020, and her bout with Todd will be a guaranteed barnburner when it goes down at some point in the future.
