C Milan will visit Jakarta on Nov. 13 as part of its 2021-2022 Scudetto Trophy Tour, bringing legend Daniele Massaro for a meet and greet with local fanbase Milanisti Indonesia and offering them a platform to raise funds for victims of the Kanjuruhan Stadium disaster.

“Football is still mourning after the recent tragedy of the Kanjuruhan Stadium,” the Italian club president Paolo Scaroni said in a statement.

The fatal human crush took place on Oct. 1 following a Liga 1 premier league match between home team Arema FC and rival Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang regency, East Java. The tragedy, which involved the use of tear gas to control the crowd by the police, claimed over 130 lives, while more than 500 people were injured.

“Our visit to Indonesia wants to be a way for the club to pay its respects to the Indonesian population and all football fans. We approach this trip with the utmost respect, convinced that we can play a positive role, encouraging people to believe in football again,” added Scaroni.

In the Jakarta trip, Massaro, who played for AC Milan between 1986 and 1995, is scheduled for a session with the club’s fans at 4 p.m. in Hotel Borobudur, Central Jakarta.

“Taking the Scudetto Trophy to Singapore and Indonesia is fantastic. The way fans in this region celebrated our triumph at the end of last season was truly impressive and something the club has noticed. Having the opportunity to give back to our fans and thank them for their support makes us all very proud,” said the 61-year-old.

Later in the day at the same venue, the Rossoneri (red and blacks) and Milanisti Indonesia will join forces to host a special “From Milan to Many” screening event for the AC Milan vs. Fiorentina game at 9 p.m.

To honor the memory of the victims, a minute of silence will be held prior to the screening event, while Milanisti Indonesia will use the platform created by AC Milan to collect donations for the victims of the Kanjuruhan disaster.

Tickets for the AC Milan events in Jakarta can be purchased via Milanisti Indonesia, with all proceeds contributing to the fund-raising activity organized by Milanisti Indonesia.

The events hosted in Jakarta are part of the AC Milan Trophy Tour, a global tour in partnership with the Rossoneri’s long-standing partner Emirates that sees the club take the 2021-2022 Scudetto Trophy on the road to meet Rossoneri fans around the world. The tour previously stopped in London and New York City, where the club hosted events for over 2,500 fans and is now headed to South-East Asia.
