View all search resultsState-owned electricity company PLN says the damage to electricity infrastructure caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Palu and the surrounding area was more serious than the damage caused by the more severe tsunami in Aceh in 2004 and the recent earthquake in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
With the scale of the disaster still unclear, telecommunications patchy and some areas still out of reach, families are posting photos, descriptions of lost family members and contact numbers in the hope of learning more.
Humanitarian organizations have extended a helping hand, accepting donations in the form of funds, goods and volunteer work. Here is the list of organizations through which you can offer assistance to the Palu and Donggala earthquake victims:
As of Saturday afternoon, most of the residents in Palu and Donggala had to spend the night without electricity because state-owned electricity company PLN was able to fix only two of the seven damaged power stations in Palu and Donggala.
