View all search resultsJakartans of all ages are heading to child-friendly public spaces (RPTRAs) for everything from play-time to exercise and from social counseling to public seminars, amid the capital's dearth of community centers and parks.
A study conducted by Bali Fokus/Nexus3 Foundation, an environmental health NGO, found that at least 69 percent of playground equipment had a lead concentration over 90 parts per million (ppm), which is the national standard deemed safe for children.
Those who have the resources can select one of the many classes provided by private child education centers. But for many other parents, their options are limited to entertainment or facilities in public spaces.
