The child-friendly public space (RPTRA) in the Kampung Rambutan bus terminal will gradually expand and feature playground equipment.
he Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in East Jakarta is welcoming Idul Fitri by providing travelers with a child-friendly public place (RPTRA).
Idul Fitri, expected to fall on June 5 and 6 this year, is marked by an exodus of Muslims who wish to celebrate the occasion with their family back home.
"We will provide a child-friendly public place so that children will feel more comfortable while waiting for the bus to their hometown," Kampung Rambutan bus terminal service head Thofik said on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.
He added that the RPTRA would be built in unused space inside the bus terminal.
"Later, it will also feature playgroup equipment such as swings, a slide and much more.”
In addition to the RPTRA, the bus terminal plans to improve its infrastructure and facilities for the convenience of bus passengers, such as more seats and benches in the waiting areas and an information center.
Additional officers will also be deployed to help passengers feel more secure, especially at night. (sau)
