Holiday allowances for online drivers are not mandatory
Director-General of Industrial Relations and Social Security for Manpower at the Ministry of Manpower Indah Anggoro Putri explained recently that online drivers are included in the scope of the ministry’s Circular Letter No.2/2024 regarding the implementation of the THR in 2024, because they fall under the category of PKWT, and are thus entitled to receive the THR. However, this was later confirmed to be merely an encouragement.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has warned public officials not to receive any Idul Fitri holiday bonuses (THR) from private parties, particularly since these bonuses have become a popular guise for corruption and bribery following a recent string of KPK arrests.

Indomaret retail workers start online petition after THR is slashed
"Employees who have worked for more than five years usually received THR bonuses equivalent to 1.5 to twice their monthly salary. However, now all employees have only received bonuses equivalent to one month’s salary," the petition said.
