An island at high tide and flanked by sheer cliffs, it's among Bali's most photographed sites, particularly for the mesmerizing sunsets that transform the waters into a shimmering orange vista.
On the Indonesian resort island of Bali, building height is measured by coconut trees. Anything taller could anger the Gods the Hindu locals believe inhabit the island. So plans to renovate a decades old hotel overlooking a 16th-century temple and turn it into a bigger six-star resort, complete with a tower and upgraded golf course, are causing some anxiety.
TripAdvisor has announced its annual list of popular man-made landmarks in Indonesia and apparently travelers find temples in Bali and Central Java the most attractive destinations as six of them have made it into the top 10.
